Well, as things tend to happen, my 5d mark ii had a little accident and I have replaced it with the 5d mark iii! As I anxiously await the delivery of my new baby I have been deciding the fate of my now broken 5d2 and have decided to post for sale on eBay after seeing a few others for sale. Check out the video below to see the issue with the shutter, and view the photo of the cracked LCD screen, then pass the word to your friends and lets get this thing sold!

The weather yesterday left a bit to be desired so Max and I decided to stay in the house, making the most of all this space and filming our shenanigans. In total I filmed about an hour of raw footage and the little video you see below is the first of several to come! Take a look and if you like what you see, you can subscribe to my YouTube channel, HERE.

The Sweetest Song

Last week I received a call from my good friend Ryan from the band Typefighter, a DC based band that I count among my favorite musicians. Ryan and I have worked together in the past a few times, most recently on a music video for Typefighter, which can be seen HERE.

Ryan wrote this song for his lovely girlfriend on the ukelele that she bought him for his birthday and came up with this great concept and asked for my assistance. I was happy to work with Ryan again, we have a great working relationship and personal friendship, and are both beard connoisseurs. This was shot in one afternoon on my 5d mark 2 with 24-70mm f/2.8L, with audio recorded on a zoom H4n with external condenser mic. This was also my first time editing with Final Cut Pro as opposed to Sony Vegas so I had to learn while I edited, despite that I am very happy with the video, and I hope that Ryan’s girlfriend enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it. So without further adieu, I bring you the video!

While we are on the subject of beards it would be criminal not to post this amazing photo of me by my good friend and fellow Back to The Future aficionado, Douglas Sonders. I was hanging out at the studio with Doug the other day while he shot photos of a family friend for a campaign and well, everything just fell into place. You can see more information on the photo including lighting setup and post processing by checking out Doug’s blog.
